Core vocabulary

A small set of words carries most of the Qur'an. Of its 77,429 word-units in the Leeds corpus, 74,122 carry a lemma (a dictionary headword); the other 3,307 are standalone pronouns and the disconnected letters that open 29 surahs. The 475 most frequent lemmas account for 80% of those 74,122. ●
