Query the corpus

Ask the word-by-word morphology a question and get the counts, the occurrences and a CSV. Every filter is optional but at least one is required. The address bar holds the whole query, so the link you copy reproduces the same result; nothing is stored.

How to read this

Counts come straight from the Leeds Quranic Arabic Corpus v0.4 morphology (every token and its annotated root, lemma and part of speech), so a root's total here equals its total on Roots. ● The period filter uses the Nöldeke-Bell four-period scheme, one chronology among several. ● A lemma typed in Arabic letters is matched on letters only (hamza seats and vowel marks folded), so it can match more than one Buckwalter lemma; the Buckwalter form is exact. A written word is matched on its letters, with vowel marks ignored. Roots and lemmas are the annotators' judgments, not the text itself; a different morphological analysis would give different counts. Tokens without an annotated root cannot be found by a root query. The page reads the same files you can download from Export and Datasets.
